We recently presented these instruments to the trumpet community at the International Trumpet Guild May 26-30, 2009 in Harrisburg, PA USA. They were very well received! The comments were overwhelming positive. We are calling these models ‘HD,' which stands for "Heavy Design." Based on the 'S' Series models, these trumpets are created for the symphonic, orchestral musician. We will offer the following HD configurations:
S32-HD Bb Trumpet Medium Large Bore Model
S22-HD Bb Trumpet Large Bore Model
S22C-HD C. Trumpet Large Bore Model
The HD models use a heavier receiver and lead pipe, thicker tubing, with a heavy gauge one-piece "seamed" yellow brass bell. The additional mass offers a very thick, powerful sound that is focused with wonderful projection. The HD Trumpets are an ideal choice for the aspiring, talented, student looking for their first top tier professional instrument through the working professional musician and educator seeking a “classical sound” to perform in a wind ensemble, chamber, or orchestral setting.
They will be available in silver, lacquer, or gold plated finish. We expect these instruments to be available at an Authorized Schilke Instrument Dealer shortly.
