Harry Kim will talk about the essentials of a successful musician. Using video he will include personal experiences with Quincy Jones, Phil Collins, Nathan East, Alex Acuņa and prominent movie composers and music contractors.
Susan Slaughter, the first woman in the world to serve as principal trumpet in a major orchestra, will recount experiences from her 40 years with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. She will also talk about her perspective sitting on many audition panels.
Jeff Purtle will show how to apply Claude Gordon's brass teaching that contributed to the successful careers of both Harry Kim and Susan Slaughter. This will be enhanced by live demonstrations, video clips and computer slides.
Joe Marcinkiewicz will conduct a virtual tour of his factory and explain mouthpiece and instrument construction from raw brass through the final finishing and plating process.
Dr. Keith Amstutz will give his presentation entitled "A Videofluorographic Study of the Teeth Aperture, Instrument Pivot and Tongue Arch and Their Influence on Trumpet Performance" for which he earned his doctorate and subsequently presented at the Charles Colin New York Brass Conference and the Claude Gordon International Brass Camp. This will include movies of the tongue in action.
Rich Ita will talk about antique brass instruments and repairs and will show some of his personal collection coupled with audio from Jeff Purtle's collection of historic recordings of soloists like Herbert L. Clarke, Jules Levy, Walter Rogers, Bohumir Kryl, Alessandro Liberati and others.
Harry Kim will perform a concert.
Susan Slaughter will perform a concert.
There will be ensembles for the participants.
This event is for everyone from high school through professionals. It will also be an excellent social networking opportunity for those participating in person.
The entire event will also be viewable by subscribers worldwide over live streamed HD quality video, both in real time and playable for 14 days after the event.
$200 for the brass camp (housing available)

Anderson University is easily accessible by three airports (i.e. GSP, ATL, CLT) that have international flights.
Check-in will be Thursday, July 15th, 2010 from 5-7pm.
$75 for 2 nights of campus housing and 6 meals. (Add $30 for Sat. night.)
No campus meals will be provided Thursday night.
